Bitbucket Cloud, end to end

Bitbucket Cloud as a first-class Git provider — OAuth, token lifecycle, persistence, backend, UI, a public Marketplace app, and the procurement and vendor review to get there.

The problem

Launch supported GitHub and GitLab. Enterprises standardised on Bitbucket couldn't onboard at all.

What I built

The External Git Provider service behind the Marketplace app; Marketplace and consumer OAuth; token lifecycle and refresh; DynamoDB persistence provisioned for non-production; the auth policy and scopes; backend and UI deployed on Launch itself; post-install handling; connection repair for when a customer's grant goes stale; and ownership transfer.

It ran wider than code. I handled procurement and the vendor risk assessment for the Bitbucket account, set up a centralised OAuth consumer and later migrated it to the main company account, and took the app through staged public requests in development, staging and production until the Marketplace listing went public. The OAuth scopes alone took coordination across the Marketplace and Auth teams.
